RPS has entry-level positions available in Dallas for anyone who does not have experience in security. To qualify for these positions you must meet the following qualifications:
1. No Felony convictions.
2. No Class A misdemeanor convictions.
3. No Class B misdemeanor convictions in the past 5 years.
4. No criminal activity of any type against children.
5. Must pass urinalysis (drug test).
6. Must not have been fired from any job in the last two years.
7. Must pass polygraph (lie detector test) for certain positions.
8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
9. Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
10. Must have a valid social security card.
11. Must have reliable transportation.
12. Must have a working home or cellular telephone.
13. Must own or buy solid black leather shoes.
14. Must have and maintain a clean-cut image.
15. Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
16. Friendly customer oriented attitude.
17. Must be in good physical condition capable of performing all job functions.
These positions have the following benefits:
1. 40 hour training course to satisfy state of Texas requirements to work as an armed guard.
2. Cost of class to be deducted from first two paychecks.
3. Uniforms provided.
4. Starting pay of $8.00 to $10.00 per hour.

RPS has a contract to guard federal prisoners at area hospitals. These positions pay a base pay of $16.00 per hour with a substantial benefit package that can bring the total compensation to over $20.00 per hour. Full time employees can also earn two weeks vacation after one year of service and 11 paid holidays.
In order to be considered for these positions you must meet ALL of the following qualifications. If you do not meet ALL of these qualifications, please do not apply for these positions. If you apply for any of these positions knowing that you are not qualified, you will never be considered for any position with our company. Your qualifications will be verified by our investigative staff as well as by the Federal government.
General Qualifications
- Applicant must not have been fired or asked to resign from any job in the past three years. If you were fired or asked to resign from a job more than three years ago you will be considered for employment only if the reason for your termination was not due to a violation of the law or a serious violation of company or ethical standards.
Educational Requirements
- Applicant must have one year (2040 hours) of experience as a corrections officer.
Physical Requirements
- Applicants shall be in good general health and able to perform job functions. amputations, deformities or disabilities that prevent satisfactory performance of guard duties (as determined by the FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER) are disqualifying.
- Vision must be correctable to 20/30 (Snellen), in the better eye, and must be able to read typewritten material with or without glasses. The ability to distinguish basic color is required.
- The history or presence of a psychiatric disorder is disqualifying. The services to be performed require use of tact to deal with prisoners, a keen sense of perception, mental alertness, and the ability to resolve crisis situations through verbal communications. Guards may be required to work under trying conditions for long periods of time without relief. EMOTIONAL AND MENTAL STABILITY ARE ESSENTIAL.
- All prospective contract guard employees must be tested for use of illegal drugs at the FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER using procedures for new employees. No guard shall be used unless he/she has received a negative drug test. Any indication of illegal and/or non-prescribed drugs shall disqualify the individual from performing on this contract.
- The ability to hear conversational voice without the use of a hearing aid is required.
Background Investigation
- All applicants must provide complete details of any conviction record. These records will be confirmed through:
- National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS)
- Fingerprints
- Criminal records checks, and
- Other appropriate background checks, to verify employment applications.
